SILVER PINE HOME CARE'S RESPONSE TO COVID-19
BY SARA MCCORMICK, RN, BSN, OWNER OF SILVER PINE HOME CARE
Many of us have been inundated by alerts, texts, tweets and conversations with friends and family about COVID-19, the new coronavirus that originated from Wuhan, China. Silver Pine Home Care is monitoring the virus situation closely.
We are committed to providing compassionate, extraordinary care every day for our clients. The safety of our client, their families, and each other is our number one priority.
OUR RESPONSE
Silver Pine Home Care’s COVID-19 managers and owner meet regularly to share the latest updates and national/international data with our cargegivers.
Our team work closely with our partners to make sure we have the equipment, supplies, processes and procedures in place to manage our response to the outbreak as it continues.
Standard infection prevention practices are already in place for all our caregivers. Their relentless commitment to handwashing, hygiene and other safety practices means that infection prevention is part of our daily routine.
our action plan for caregivers
Caregivers must stay home if feeling sick (fever, cough, upper respiratory infection symptoms).
Must wash hands often with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, especially before eating, after coughing or sneezing, and after using the bathroom.
Must wear mask at all times inside clients home.
Avoid close contact with anyone with symptoms.
Must avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a disinfecting household cleaning spray or wipe.
I am proud of our team's focused commitment to infection prevention right now and every day. Their dedication provides our clients and families with both excellent care and peace of mind and is how we keep each other safe.
We are also committed to transparency, and will continue to keep you, our clients and our community informed as the situation evolves.
Thank you.
